Terrific New eBook On How To Broil Delicious Foods

Losing weight is a matter of burning more calories than you eat.  That’s the basic formula of many diets, including the Slim fast diet. This article focuses on the Slim fast diet and whether or not it works.

First let’s examine the basics of the Slim fast diet. The core of the diet is drinking Slim fast shakes in the place of two of your daily meals. The dieter can eat a sensible dinner, and can also eat two pieces of fruit and the Slim fast nutrition bar as snacks.  In general the plan averages about 1200 calories a day. This is about 500 less than the average female diet and 1000 less than the average male diet.  Slim fast recommends exercising while on the diet, but even without that you’ll lose weight.

This Slim fast diet is easy to use, that’s important. If people can maintain a diet without much difficulty, they’re likely to be successful. Slim fast diet also tells people to drink 6 to 8 cups of water a day – that’s a good thing.

People need certain vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients which are not found in the Slim fast diet. By replacing two meals, it’s easy to miss these things.  Another danger on this diet is to cut out the dinner meal. The thinking is that by skipping a meal while still drinking the shakes people would lose weight more quickly. But that’s a very bad idea because it’s far too few calories, and multiplies the problem of missing certain nutrients.

There’s a modified version of the Slim fast diet which includes drinking only one shake each day, and eating two regular meals. That can be very effective, especially if the replaced meal is lunch, which many working people often eat at fast food restaurants.

Like any diet, the Slim fast diet can work, but it must be followed with caution. Use common sense.
